Iota Research Lab
Ideas start imaginary. We test them in real life.
How it works
- Pre-register. Every experiment starts with a dated document: the hypothesis, the data, the method, and the result that would prove it wrong.
- Publish everything. Results go up whichever way they point, including when they disconfirm the thesis.
- Track it IRL. Each idea gets a model portfolio with fixed rules, logged monthly in a record that is never edited.
Why “Iota”
- The Greek I. The author’s initial, so every result is signed.
- The smallest letter. A deliberately small lab. Not one iota more than the evidence supports.
- The imaginary unit. In some classrooms i, where i2 = −1, is called iota. A number that can’t exist on the real line, yet runs through real engineering. Every idea here starts imaginary; the lab’s job is to find out what holds up IRL.
